Created by husband and wife clinical psychologists, Dr Ron and Suwanti Farmer, the CDs offer a refreshing way of looking at some forms of depression. While not suggesting that they are a cure-all, we know from experience that they can be of help to many people. Even for those requiring some form of medication the words and images on the CDs help focus the mind on the sun that is ever-present behind the thick blanket of clouds.

To give but one example of what you can expect to hear on the CDs, it might be helpful to regard the emotional darkness as akin to being in a pitch-black tunnel. The impenetrable barrier, which seems to be keeping us away from any real delight in life, can be regarded as one wall of this long winding tunnel. Rather than feeling frustrated and imprisoned by this ‘psychic wall’ we can regard it as something to be followed, hand-over-hand inching our way along, trusting, that eventually we will catch our first glimpse of light which signals our escape into a new freedom of spirit. Holding on to an idea which gives some meaning to our predicament is like feeling our way along the wall of the tunnel.

So too is the systematic identification of each and every one of our negative and judgemental attitudes, replacing them with affirmations and modes of thinking which are liberating instead of imprisoning, welcoming rather than excluding, and compassionate rather than ignorant in the judgement they impose This is but one of the many ideas, images and suggestions that we offer on the two CDs, each one about 45 minutes in length.
